Solidarity message from the Council of Nordic Trade Unions, NFS to the people and the labour movement in Manchester.

Our deepest condolences in order of the tragic events in Manchester on the 22nd of May 2017.
We, the Council of Nordic Trade Unions, NFS, want to convey our deepest condolences and express our solidarity and support to victims, victim’s families and the people of Manchester in order of your terrible loss.

We condemn the horror of the events and the attack against innocent people and children in Manchester on the evening of the 22nd of May 2017 and want to convey our profound gratitude to emergency workers and personnel dealing with the consequences of the incident. All acts of terrorism are an attack on our fundamental values of freedom and democracy. The trade union movement represents human equality, solidarity and peace. The brutal act of terror in Manchester is directed towards these fundamental values. It is carried out to divide and undermine freedom, openness and democracy.

The Council of Nordic Trade Unions represents 9 million employees, in all areas, sectors and branches of the labour market in the Nordic countries. We stand together with you in your trying time in the fight for democracy, peace, social rights, and decent jobs and living conditions for all - it is the best protection against terrorism.
